Serve up a traditional Italian favorite with the Omaha Steaks Penne & Veal Patties. This traditional Italian favorite features eight 4-ounce ground veal patties that have been coated with a delicious mixture of breadcrumbs, Romano cheese, garlic, cornmeal, and seasonings. Also included is a hearty side dish of pasta with sauce and cheese. Two 7-ounce packages of penne pasta can be cooked to perfection and topped with two 10-ounce packets of tasty marinara sauce and 2 0.5-ounce parmesan cheese shreds. Everything has been carefully packed so that you can either make two meals for four people or one meal for eight.
After thawing the veal patties, preheat 1 tablespoon of oil per patty over medium heat. Brown the first side for several minutes and then turn, browning the other side for approximately 2.5 minutes. While the second side is browning, lay a thin slice of mozzarella cheese on top to melt. These patties can also be cooked in the oven. Simply preheat to 375 degrees, line a raised-edge baking sheet with foil, and spray lightly with cooking oil. Bake the patties on this sheet uncovered for 25 to 30 minutes. Note that the baked patties will not be as golden brown as when pan sauteed.
